Single – “Last Days of Rome” coming 30.10.2026
“Last Days of Rome” is here!
We finished this new single at Manor Park Studio on 20th July, 2026 and it’s the start of a new album project.
It’s the first new material since our third album “Seasons In Exile“, because “Everything Seductive” / “Straight To The Ground” were recorded before that album, although released after.

The song itself comes from our time based near Rome, the first six years of the band, and in particular the “Angel of Grief” statue to be found there. It’s a comment on the eternal versus the temporary, Rome being known as the Eternal City. It’s a comment inter-personal in nature, rather than about the beautiful country of Italy. From a musical point of view, Rodger and I have been playing versions of this since 2010, and I remember trying to write lyrics to it in 2005, so it’s been with us a long time. We used to play it all the time in rehearsals, studio sessions and sound checks. We will share some of the many times it was caught on camera soon. People close to us knew it for ages as “Clip of a Thing” because I hadn’t named it. Now finally it has gotten to be out there!
